"We are Annunaki, guardians of all that exist. The roots of the galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations have saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun towards which all intelligence blossoms and the impervious shelter beneath which it has prospered." --Mithras to the United Nations Ardian Defense (UNAD)
overview
We are beyond. Dreamers. Destroyers. All of reality our whim. Who dares stand before us?
--Adonai Lunaros, boasting the superiority of the Annunaki species.
Annunaki, also known as "princely offspring", the First Civilization, and the Beyonders are an ancient species that possess vast technological and magical abilities. They were present long before the dawn of galactic communities, and even before them were the Isu, a transdimensional species who existed in the chaotic broth of the beforetimes. Even BEFORE the Isu was Anu, from which all Isu, Emanations, Ennead and Annunaki are interwoven. So closely are they related to their creators that encountering a demi-god is not entirely strange, nor is stumbling upon evidence of their existence in the form of divine relics. The Pathfinders believed that godly relics were sacred and should not be touched, while Reclaimer reformists believed that they should be studied and use them to make practical objects of their own design. But before the monastic order of the Forerunners or the hellish campaign of the Separatists were a parable, first was the colossal sacrifice of the Advent of Fire. Prometheus disturbed the natural order of the cosmos that the gods had worked so hard to attain by giving the First Flame—the progeny of the first Annunaki; Enoch's death, to civilization. Whoever found the First Flame and took it for their own could have sunk the cosmos back into the Dark Ages or ushered in an era of growth and stability. Luckily for the gods themselves, Adonai was of kind, but stoic nature. With the power of the First Flame and Enoch's guidance, kingdoms rose and fell upon the world and their species was seeded on over a hundred different uninhabited planets over an entire sector of the galaxy. Only now, two regimes vie for control over the galaxy. The Forerunners of current day believe they hold an impermanent place in the universe and that they would eventually be succeeded by other, better races. They believed this through an obligation as advanced beings in the universe to serve as stewards to all life forms of lesser capability, ultimately striving towards the cultivation and preservation of all life. The humans of Earth, just entering the stone age, would become more capable than the Annunaki and inherent this mantle. Already on thin ice with the Reclaimers, these dark anomalies of Emanation-kind rose up against those of their ilk. The highly militarized and brutal Reclaimers attacked the Pathfinders almost as soon as their differences became apparent, and a war between the two species has been raging for eighty-six years. Always in the back of the minds of those who have been haunted by the tales of the Emanation of past know that the struggle between Pathfinder and Reclaimer is minute compared to the threat that looms constantly. Thousands of years ago, the gods imprisoned the Emanation's. Atriox himself seeks out Ra's divine light, the final piece to the puzzle of the hedron bind that seals the Emanations—and two demigods who possess the same essence of Enoch and En-il to turn those last tumblers. He seeks for all of those elements to become present again for the mystic lock to click. Old magics will loosen, the binds will unravel. Hedrons will float to life, assembling strange interlocking superstructures in the sky. The land thunders and roars to life in the most savage turmoil the world has ever seen, for the galaxy knows what is upon it. After thousands of years, the imprisoned abominations will come again. The Emanations will rise.

History
The burgeoning universe had brought forth life... and among the first, a race that quickly learned their vast powers were best served by conquest than inaction.
The Primogenial Race, the Children of Anu, were created by Nammu in the Creation Saga, sculpted from the mud of the Primeval Waters. They are the eldest and noblest of the speaking races of an entire sector of the known universe, having awoken in the Primeval Waters in the starlight as the Sun and Moon had yet to be created. The first Annunaki to awake was Enoch, followed by a couple hundred others who were made extinct during the war against the Emanations. Their only purpose in life were to combat the daemon that were sculptured to the liking of the woeful Atriox, and were also made extinct towards the end of the war. In tribute to Enoch and his plight after sacrificing himself to revive the fallen Isu, the Annunaki were made anew, but were abandoned by the Isu, causing them to go into a recessive period known as the Age of Dark. Prometheus, outraged by the neglect of Enoch's sacrifice, returned the First Flame (Enoch's Soul) to Nibiru. The man to pick up this flame and share it with the Annunaki was called Adonai Lunaros, the first of his line. The Mantle of Responsibility was a creed passed down and created by the Isu, coronating a species as "the Gods" of the universe. Whatever species inherited the Mantle of Responsibility was to shepherd all life in the cosmos, ushering an age of eternal peace. Adonai sculpted his ideals after the Mantle of Responsibility, exploring the starways and seeding life on several hundred planets in an era called the "Age of Starlight." Instead of giving the Mantle of Responsibility to Adonai, the Isu made the baffling decision to pass the Mantle of Responsibility to the denizens of Arda-1. In retaliation, Adonai Lunaros commenced a ultimate campaign of genocide against his creators. With the Isu's disappearance, Adonai proclaimed himself and Annunaki-kind the inheritors of the Mantle. In the background, Atriox's daughters communed with the Emanation, tapping into the darker sides of their crux to follow the philosophy of the Deep. They became the figureheads of a massive empire known as the Seperatist Legion, whose goals and motives revolved around eliminating the rule of Adonai and spread their philosophies of galactic natural selection. This bitter war between the Forerunner Order and the Separatist Legion would come to rage across the universe for many years. In the start, the Annunaki were much like humans, starting off with nothing but vines and hands that could build tools. Humans are curious and competitive, greedy for resources and expansionists in nature. Annunaki also held these qualities . . . with a measurable metric for process and energy use. On the Kardashev Scale, the Annunaki are a type 4 civilization, able to use the available energy of multiple galaxies. When the Annunaki transitioned from a type 1 to type 2 civilization with the help of the power of the First Flame, they took the next reasonable step, trying to alter and mine other planets and bodies. This started with outposts in space, transitioning to infrastructure and industries near their home planet of Nibiru, then moved on to colonies and ended with terraforming other planets by changing their atmosphere, rotation and position. As Adonai's ecumene expanded, its energy consumption scaled with it, so they harnessed the energy of their star by building a Dyson Swarm. Energy became unlimited for molding the home system however they saw fit. Still greedy and expansionist with control over their home system, Adonai's next frontier moved to other stars light years away. This began their transition towards type 3, where they discovered the ability to travel lightyears in hours. They could still communicate, keep a shared culture and biology light years apart. The Annunaki's influence stretched across multiple galaxy clusters in only a few millennia.
language
In five millennia, the Annunaki fought with and against a thousand armies on a thousand worlds. They learned to speak as many languages and absorbed weapons technology and tactics from every war. And yet, despite the overwhelming influence of alien cultures, and the absence of a true homeworld, their own language not only survived but changed little, their way of life and their philosophy remained untouched, and their ideals and sense of family, of identify, of nation, were only strengthened.
Physiology
The Annunaki were quite similar to humans, but also share traits with the Isu. They could be born with diversified skin colors ranging from tan skin to pale blue, purple, green, or gray. Generally, all Annunaki are upright bipeds with two legs. In Annunaki culture, white hair is the most common color for an individual's hair, with brighter colors such as red, purple or blue being slightly more rare and black, the most rare. A trait that made them more attuned to Isu-status were the Annunaki's knack for being born with marks. Those marks, which resembled human tattoos, exhibited bioluminescent qualities in various shades of blues, purples and greens. Beneath their skin, every Annunaki contains a crux which can be compared to the tissue, muscle and internal organs of a human. The actual appearance of an Annunaki's crux relies on the morality, ideals and habits of its vessel, with no one core being identical to another. The Annunaki "heart" is the crux, and is an actual biological explanation for the conversion between Pathfinder and Reclaimer. The crux's position at the center of the chest defines the trait of severity, split into two aspects. Its push on the opposite side is met with equal and opposite resistance. Without both of them in equal measure, the Annunaki descends into depravity or righteousness, both of which can be equally unhealthy. The crux separates these two and brings balance to the Annunaki, but no Annunaki is "yin" or "yang" completely, nor is it static. The nature of the crux flows and changes with time but can be skewed from outside influences. Normal human limitations such as the necessity of nourishment, breathing, bone structure and even visual exposure to light are completely disregarded despite the Annunaki's similar human structure. Every day they interact with other humanoids in Arda their celestial genetics reveal more and more unique attributes.

CRUX & core
"Everything changed with the coming of the Font. It gave us gifts that transformed the solar system and the nature of Annunaki life. It ushered in the Age of Starlight, a time of miracles. But it never shared its deepest secrets. Where did the Font come from? Why did it offer us so much? Did it know it was being hunted across the stars? And why, when the Deep came, did it choose to stay and fight for us? Now the Font shines dim. It may be healing. It may be dying. It gave everything it had to save us. And now its power lies with us, its Forerunners."
--Adonai Lunaros
The Children of Anu [Annunaki] are described as existing in two parts: they have a "spirit" called a crux which comes from the First Flame of Enoch, and a body, or core. The Annunaki compared the relationship of crux and core to a House and an In-dweller. For this reason, when death (which is the separation of the two) occurred, the crux was said to be "houseless" or in "exile". The crux itself is nearly powerless without the core, and likewise the crux would die without the core.
Annunaki may be slain or lose the will to live, for instance because of grief. When an Annunaki dies, the crux leaves the core, which then "dies" and is reabsorbed into the world. The crux is called to Elysium, where it is judged. After a time of waiting, the crux may be reincarnated into a new-born body that is identical to the previous core if allowed by Nergal. It is only by coming to Nergal that an Annunaki crux can hope to be reincarnated, as the Annunaki don't possess this ability in themselves. Alternatively, a crux might decide to stay in limbo as it is denied reincarnation if it had done much evil in life.
For slain Annunaki, going to Elysium is an option and not a requirement; their crux could refuse the summons of the Nergal and remain in limbo, though if they made this choice they could not be reembodied. Refusal of the summons was seen as a sign of taint in the crux, since Nergal's call is backed by the authority of the Gods, and because the presence of Atriox caused most crux to flee in terror. Many who resisted the summons in those Ages succumbed to the "counter-summons" of Atriox, falling under his dominion.

crux alignment
Annunaki are biologically affected by their decisions, emotions, thoughts and actions. As an Annunaki progresses through their lifespan, their crux can shift like a meter between darkness and light, altering their anatomical constitution between "Reclaimer," and "Pathfinder." Just like there is male and female gender roles in human society, there are Reclaimer and Pathfinder roles in Annunaki society.
- Pathfinders are known by their ancient name of Lin-Kwa'e. They are concerned with the ideals of good, benevolence and healing. Lightbearers who strove to live in harmony with the world around it and acted out of wisdom and logic as opposed to hasty judgement would identify as Pathfinder(s). In order to achieve harmony with their crux, Lightbearers would often meditate to clear themselves of emotion; particularly negative ones such as fear, anger and hatred, since these thoughts would often lead an Annunaki to become a Reclaimer.
- Reclaimers are known by their ancient name Alak-hûl. Reclaimers are rooted in the darker aspects of the Annunaki crux with an innate desire to survive and trample and on a metaphysical level, as well as the manifestation of loss, decline and destruction. In most scenarios, Annunaki that are consumed with the desire for victory and perfection, be close to death or possess so much intense rage and hatred that they are willing to slaughter will tap into the darkness within their crux and become Reclaimer. Reclaimers physical traits involve the lengthening of the hair, paling of the skin and glowing of the eyes.
- A third and extremely rare abnormality, known by their ancient native name as Jensa'arai, are Striders. Striders are the balance between Pathfinder and Reclaimer. In a sense they are perfect balance and harmony, though on a personal level, this is far from the truth. In history, Striders are some of the most discordant and shunned of the Annunaki--their rarity and pariah status can be compared to the albino human. Though have been around since the beginning of the creation of the crux, but have always been mavericks who are difficult to control.... they are valued members of any sect they are in after they have been persuaded to follow the established hierarchy.
Culture
Although Annunaki are naturally very intelligent, their culture's long dependence on a military-industrial schema has led to an emphasis on might over science. In some regards, the advent of the Font made this position easier, allowing the male Annunaki to concentrate even more on military endeavors, while the women took care of science and technology. Despite this, their adeptness at using and creating technology is evident. Raised from childhood to be warriors, any other societal roles are treated as secondary endeavors or even hobbies. Doctors are considered outright dishonorable as they "spill blood" outside the battlefield; despite this, the Annunaki are known to employ advanced medical technology that is superior to humanity's. Few doctors exist within Annunaki society. Instead, other species are employed as medical personnel. Most injuries sustained by the Annunaki can easily be treated by the medical technology employed by the species, otherwise they accept their fate. However, Annunaki hold disdain for using medical technology to treat themselves and some personally would rather suffer through their injury or die.
Annunaki are trained to be skilled in most ranged weapons, as well as hand-to-hand combat. A prominent example of this martial focus is that only aristocrats are allowed to wield vorpal talons and that vorpal talon wielders are then no longer eligible for marriage; however, they may breed with any female they choose, married or otherwise, to ensure successful transmission of "swordsman" genes. Many Annunaki children are trained in basic swordsmanship early on, both for personal development and for them to be capable of using a sword later in life if necessary. Historically the Annunaki have considered most other species to be inferior to them, both culturally and in fighting skill; this thinking has caused Annunaki to treat other species cruelly and in an arrogant manner. This eventually led to the feud between the Forerunner Order and Separatist Legion. In the years following the Age of Starlight the Annunaki entered a period of cultural renaissance however, triggering a rethinking towards their practices. This included views on medicine, secularism (seen in the war between the theocratic Order and secular Legion) gender roles, and technology. One great indicator of the Annunaki's evolving attitudes towards other species was their interactions with humans in the decade following the end of the Ardian Chronicles. During and immediately after the conflict with Arda, many Annunaki rejected Adonai's position towards humans as being heretics, and humans were no longer subject to much of the same cultural arrogance from the Annunaki that the other species received. The obvious practical nature of much of these changes strongly implies that the Annunaki have come to view humans as a worthy investment, investor and ally, which is in stark contrast to their culture of the past.

sense of justice
The Annunaki display respect and admiration for honorable fighters, whether they are allies of the Annunaki or not; it is not unusual for an Annunaki to have such an admiration for their adversaries. Annunaki respect and revere veterans and often follow their lead. Their history is rife with victorious combatants welcoming the defeated enemies' remaining forces into their own army, provided of course that they fought with honor. During the Age of Starlight, the most tenacious of the species who survived Adonai's invasions were admitted for the first time into previously all-Annunaki forces. Despite their intelligence, the Annunaki often allow their obsession with honor to cloud their better judgement. The Annunaki usually employ complex strategy only if it either improves success in battle, allows them to inflict more casualties on their enemies, or if it conforms to their code of honor. Otherwise, in both tactical and strategic combat, Annunaki generally charge their enemies with reckless aggression, regardless of any damage they sustain. Only very seldom do they admit temporary defeat.
superstitions
- Despite their martial nature, the Annunaki have reservations to the spilling of one's own blood (energy of the crux). This is an extension of the belief that the blood of a warrior is his essence, which is synonymous with his honor; thus, to spill one's blood is to lose one's honor. As a result, in Annunaki culture, doctors are seen by many as the lowest members of society because they "make [their] living slicing and causing another Annunaki to bleed without honor." This means that the only 'honorable' way for a Annunaki to be injured or bleed out is from combat with the enemy.
- The Annunaki view certain historical weapons, such as the Harpe, as so famous that they were said to possess a small part of the owner's heart, and were given names as a result. This is why most weapons or treasured belongings had names attached onto them.
- Many Annunaki believe that a weapon is to be drawn only if it is to be used, because a drawn weapon "demands blood."
- As a symbolic gesture of love for his people, an Annunaki leader may choose to walk among his followers and help them in their duties, even doing what is normally considered females' work such as helping them care for children. This is also done to inspire the Annunaki to work diligently so as to not be outdone by their superiors.
afterlife
Annunaki are, by their nature, immortal, meaning that they will live as long as the First Flame is lit. However, they are not invincible. A beheaded Annunaki doesn't keep wandering around, as they're anatomically divided into body (core) and spirit (crux). The body can be destroyed, but the spirit remains bound to the astral plane for as long as the First Flame endures. The crux of slain Annunaki are summoned to the Elysian Plains, where after a time of healing, they may be given new bodies and resume their lives. Going to Elysium is no guarantee of re-embodiment; Enoch, for example, is said never to have returned to life. Other Annunaki refuse the summons, and their crux becomes attached to the realm in which they lived as spirits.
Apotheosis
The black glass key, the impenetrable door... few are they who survive this hidden path. The ancient door of apotheosis, the last gateway of the threefold death. To wield Apotheosis is to be in touch with every other living thing at once. It is to recognize that we aren't alone in the universe.... we alone are the universe. We are the cosmos coming to know itself, to love itself.... and when you witness that for even the briefest of moments, you will see..... there is nothing more beautiful.
--Mithras Lunaros
Apotheosis occur randomly in any Lunaros through proper genetics and cannot be created artificially. This "Godspark" can be transferred to another, or used up to perform magical works on a cosmic scale. It is an intangible part of a Lunaros' crux, a link to the physical world sometimes described as an Annunaki's "center of consciousness." Being able to activate this spark, which one in a million have (even fewer realizing their potential and ancestry) confer upon them a wide set of god-like powers. This includes virtual immortality and a degree of raw power that normal beings could never attain. Demigods made and destroyed entire planes at their whims and toyed with the multiverse like deities. Some are more powerful and wise than others, but all were mighty beings, and virtually all were revered by many at some point. Among the few that achieved Apotheosis were Adonai, Mithras and Vauban.
TRIVIA
- Annunaki sported pointed, leaf-shaped ears as a result of their genetic makeup.
- Annunaki are capable of "sequential hermaphoriditsm," a function that occurs in many fish, gastropods and plants that involves when an individual changes its sex at some point in its life.
- One could tell when a Annunaki was running out of energy by their hair color, as when they're close to the bottom of their reserves, the color is drained out to lifeless greys/whites.
- In general, Annunaki were white or gold haired, with the name ékthesi meaning the "the Fair" given to them by the Jotnar, and referring to their light-colored hair. Other Annunaki civilizations on different planets had dark brown or even black hair. In some cases they had atypical hair color, either due to simple happenstance or intermarriage between clans.
- Annunaki were like Enoch in spirit; they loved all beauty of nature, especially space, the sea and the stars since they're so closely attuned to them. They were marked by an insatiable curiosity and a desire of learning and creating. They detested all evil and were usually more resistant to being corrupted than humans but were, however, susceptible to greed, pride and jealousy.
- Tattoos indicate status in a hierarchical society as well as sexual maturity, genealogy and ones rank within the society. Nearly everyone in Nibiru society is tattooed.
- B'ashamanune was a name used to refer to species of human by the Annunaki.
- Common goodbye's in Annunaki culture were as followed; "Light be with you" or ones such as "May the Light embrace you" and "Open your heart to the Light" or "Light protect us from this madness".
