FORERUNNER ORDER
The Forerunners were sophisticated above all other empires and powerful almost beyond measure. Our empire spanned three million fertile worlds. We had achieved the greatest heights of technology and physical knowledge.
--Vauban Antilles on the prime of the Forerunner Order.
The largest empire of Pathfinders was the Forerunner Order, who strove to maintain peace and justice throughout the galaxy. They are also the oldest--formed during the Age of Starlight when the Annunaki were first given the power of Light. Adonai Lunaros and the Forerunner Order took up the role of custodian for the galaxy and believed that the Mantle of Responsibility, the center of their religion and culture, had been passed down tot hem by the Isu. They seeded life on thousands of planets and spread the gift of Light for those who willingly bent the knee to Annunaki supremacy. Those who did not--their fates are hidden in the archives of history, as Adonai had intended. Mutual trust, respect and the ability to form alliances gave the Forerunner Order their distinct advantage over the Separatist Legion. The name "Forerunner Order" stems from a literal translation of the Pathfinders name for themselves, as they identified as "Forerunners" because they believed they held an impermanent place in the universe and they would eventually be succeeded by other, better races.
STORY AND HISTORY
It is said by Forerunner Scholars that the very first person to take on the Mantle of Responsibility and follow the philosophy of light is Adonai Lunaros, but this is a betray on pragmatism. It'd be easier to say that Darrien was the first Forerunner and his practices of martial law against the Isu and Naga would later on mirror the structure of the Forerunner Order. These practitioners of Light bow in deference to Enoch, whom they consider their God and first divinity, even above the Isu. Many churches came together to pray for the longevity of the First Flame, deciphered finger-paintings on walls that spoke of Enoch's sacrifice and built a shrine in his honor. Those Annunaki who felt beholden to Enoch, whom they called the Lord of Light, officially bandied together in order to prevail over the Reclaimer threat.
After the Hundred-Year-War, the Reclaimers were scattered thin across the vacuum of space and the Forerunners reclaimed control over the systems, becoming an imperial civilization. The aristocratic ruling class of this civilization was the dominant Lunarosi faction for an extended period--perhaps centuries or millennia. The Annunaki's advanced technology and scientific research led to the discovery of the Blind Eternities, a parallel dimension that allowed further development of already impressive Annunaki technology. Their civilization followed suit--Annunaki culture, particularly among the ruling class, evolved into a society obsessed with youth, aesthetics, and elegance.
The benefits of the Forerunner's advancements were not shared equally among all members of their society, however. The rigid hierarchy allowed a few lucky individuals to live fairly comfortably as servants, scholars and enforcers for the Forerunner elite. For a time, the Forerunner Order ruled the galaxy and continued to expand. They spent a great deal of time building large outposts throughout the solar system and developed more advanced machinery.
