Belet-EdIn |
|
The Sky King's fury shook the heavens.
It was unforgivable. Belet-Edin had communed with, bedded with the Annunaki. He was king. For Belet-Edin to perform such an act was sacrilege. And to defy the Oath of Silence? Heresy.
Belet-Edin was cast out, his name removed from the World's Analog, the Domain. In the king's rage, all memory of his loved son was obscured, all but one statue, defiant in its permanence.
Yet the unfavored son felt a calm. Removed from his father's kingdom, he was free. He would do what the Sky King could not. He would make his mark upon the universe.
Belet-Edin turned his dreadful eyes to his Champion.
“Hear me, o' Champion of mine. We will raise an army. We will die and be reborn in your name, feed you the souls of our enemies."
"State your claim."
"We take Arda."
Summary:
The son of En-il and Nammu, born in the little island of Delos. In his time he had been called "the most Annunaki of all the gods." He was a beautiful figure in poetry, a master musician who delighted Elysium as he played on his golden lyre; the lord, too, of the silver bow, the Archer-god, far-shooting; the Healer, as well, who first taught Annunaki the healing art. Even more than of these good and lovely endowments, he was the God of Light, in whom is no darkness at all, and so he was the God of Truth. No false word ever fell from his lips. He was a favorite among many, particularly in Annunaki-kind. He taught them to forge swords, handling both his hammer and his blade with equal grace. And though he loved mankind, he feared them as well. This was their land. He had tread upon it without invitation, a stranger. He was many wonderful things, but he was not an Annunaki, though he longed to be one. So much so that he bed one, and born of his infidelity was a child whose future endowed a great disaster for the Isu pantheon. Stricken with fear and anger, En'il banished Belet-Edin from the prosperous meadows of Elysium. |
Caste away by his father, Belet-Edin now hides in the dark below: known by a new name now; the monster of Kallamatar-V, a stray moon found in the outer systems. He has accepted the Deep as his new father, so now he walks beneath a sky of green fire and has since butchered any army the Annunaki break against him. Adonai abandoned Kallamatar-V in his conquest rather than face Belet-Edin. Whispered lore and fragmentary theories suggest that he still inhabits that moon.
Match me in bloodshed, or in blood be drowned!
--Belet-Eden summoning ritual
Embody the valiant pride of Belet-Eden's champion past, brandishing his signature blade the Sorrow of Teash which has been zealousy honed by ageless strife. Relive the legendary mythos of Belet-Eden, the indomitable heroine. Cut a jagged wound from your wrist and watch as the resulting blood patterns itself into the harrowed Sorrow of Teash, made of fissilized bone and hell-forged metal, dulled by centuries of slaughter and execution. The Sorrow of Teash is an Artifact of immense power, capable of feeding on its owner's aggression as it tears through bone and flesh. When summoned, this Artifact gains increased cutting power in proportion to the durability of its adversary--whether that be armor, flesh or spirit. To do so, the Sorrow of Teash 'sacrifices' the world around it to achieve the necessary power, greedibly absorbing ambient energy, drinking it from whatever sources are nearby. This weapon is indiscriminate in targeting even those who possess a weaker durability than the blade itself, draining them of their lifeforce until they become disparate motes that are also absorbed. This passive coats the blade in a faint, scintillating aura, enveloping it and serving to extend the blades reach. A soft hum that eerily sounds like a chorus of voices can be heard with each swing, the fragmented wills of shattered, discordant energy resonating from its steel. When used alongside Belet-Eden and not as a stand-alone weapon, there is a slight alteration to this weapons appearance. It has four runes scrit into the steel that, when the blade reaches a certain threshold of energy, will light each rune one by one to indicate which stage of Belet-Eden's influence you are in.
Full Moon (100%)
Belet-Edin may render himself and others effectively invisible and completely undetectable to the universe. This ability is so powerful that Belet-Edin was able to hide the entire earth itself from the immensely powerful Kronos.
