"A month later, He arrived. The brute. Their leader. His name is Agdayne. During the war, Atriox used his clan as expendable muscle. Taught them dying in battle would speed their holy journey to Elysium. Forty at a time, they carelessly sent them in. Forty to break the front-lines, forty to die for beliefs not their own. They never returned. Until he did. And so battle by battle, war by war, thirty nine brothers at a time...Agdayne was born. With every victory, his legend and his hatred of the Reclaimers grew. Eventually both were impossible to conceal, and they tried to banish him and in everything we know about the Reclaimers thousand year history, Agdayne was the first to defy Atriox and survive.
And his defiance inspired others.
Atriox and his Banished raided Reclaimer resources, cutting a swathe across the galaxy, growing in strength with each attack, gathering killers and mercenaries to his side. The Reclaimers had two targets in those years. Mithras and Agdayne. They almost got Mithras, but Agdayne..they never came close. All the Reclaimers couldn't contain him at the height of their power. That's what you're up against, and all you've got is one ship? We need to run, as far and as fast as we can!"

overview
Agdayne has a long history of being mentally unstable - but also diabolic and treacherous. From birth, he was a capable fighter, drawing the attention of the early Separatist Legion and Forerunner Order alike. His interest peaked when Atriox himself, the famed Daemon of the Boreal Valley, approached and recruited him into his personal cabal. Promising Agdayne that he had a "long future" ahead of him filled with "fortune and reverence," all things which he has longed for, Agdayne could not refuse. He had been duped. He and his close pack-mates that had trained together in preparing for war time against the Pathfinders during the One-Hundred Year Darkness were thrown into battle in order to weaken the front-lines. They were meant to die in battle. All around him, Agdayne would see his companions expire for a cause that was not their own. Only.... Agdayne did not die. He never did. He allied himself with the daughters of Atriox and his mentor who whispered in his ear, Angarak, coming together to coup and dethrone Atriox. Atriox, through methods that are largely unknown, was sealed away on a massive ship and hurled into space to be sealed forever. Elected as the new Dominus of the Seperatist Legion, Agdayne upheld the religious standards thrust unto him from his mentor, Angarak, and the devious schemes weaved together by Ginorah. This trio of powers kept the Seperatist Legion successful in its various sieges across the starways until the eventual (and untimely) death of Adonai Lunaros. Following the death of the Forerunner Order's symbol of power and unity, the Legion took initiative and ashed the Annunaki home-planet of Nibiru. What was considered to be the most highly touted victory of the Legion eventually turned sour, as a new power arose in the galaxy in the form of the 10th Front. Goro Va'lai, Viceroy and commander of the 10th Front challenged Agdayne to a battle that would determine the ultimate powerhouse of the Annunaki race. In the wake of a sour defeat at the hands of his rival, Agdayne was left morally defeated and ultimately shelved by Ginorah. Ashamed and defeated, Agdayne was tasked by Ginorah to find and persecute all Lunarosi to redeem himself in the eyes of his people. After tracking down a young Mithras Lunaros, Agdayne was handed another loss, leaving him permanently deformed and scarred with an ever-growing obsessive hatred of the Lunaros.

history
Agdayne's history of violence and ego began before he was even born, slaying his twin sister while they were each still in the womb. In time, his mother, Raissa, would give birth, knowing that Agdayne would bear a fate destined to be something special. Unlike the others of her kind, she stayed and attempted to raise the child that she knew was fated for something great. It was a terrible decision. Agdayne displayed a wanton disregard for life, killing another child and leading Raissa to flee with Agdayne from their home planet. It did not stop there though. At six, he began to attempt to murder his own mother. He seemed impressed by her ability to overcome his repeated attempts on her life, but all Raissa desired were answers. The answers she got were confusing and terrifying, as she saw visions of her son rise to spread fear among the galaxies.
Agdayne was born problematic, in truth, and was abandoned at eight to die of exposure by his fearful mother. Instead, he was found by Angarak, a scholar and aristocrat of the Seperatist Legion, who decided to raise, befriend, trained, and teach Agdayne in the hopes that he would one day overthrow Atriox. In particular, the Angarak taught Agdayne of the Emanations and instilled in him a belief that the Legion deserved their power by right. Agdayne knew how the Seperatists were using him and accepted it as a fair exchange for his upbringing.
Agdayne first came to Atriox's attention during scattered battles in on-planet invasions. His striking sun-bleached white skin and bloodred hair, combined with his singular skill and measured, patient approach to combat, quickly made him Atriox's favorite. However, Atriox began to grow apprehensive of wasting Agdayne's skill as a frontline combatant, and so elevated him to Titan of the Seperatist Legion, where he became known as the "Ghost Titan." As the Titan of the Seperatist Legion, Agdayne quickly became indispensable to Atriox not only for his skill in battle but also his wisdom. Agdayne soon found himself as the right hand of Atriox, who would often discuss his plans and ideas with Agdayne to refine them and temper Atriox's passion with discipline. Agdayne grew close with Atriox as well, confiding in him how he believed the adversity he had faced throughout his life shaped and strengthened him into the warrior he became.
Despite the growing friendship between Agdayne and Atriox and the close trust and faith the Emperor favored him with, Agdayne's loyalties remained with Angarak and he utilized his position to begin plotting a coup against Atriox with the aid of Atriox's own daughter, Ginorah. Atriox grew concerned about Agdayne's activities and dispatched a spy to follow him, although he did not know the true extent of Agdayne's plans. At this point, Atriox became sick with paranoia, coupled with traumatic flashbacks of his fight with Enoch. His power and mental state wilted, wracked with the possibility of once again losing his position of power.

At this point, Atriox became sick with paranoia, coupled with traumatic flashbacks of his fight with Enoch. His power and mental state wilted, wracked with the possibility of once again losing his position of power.
During the beginning of the Hundred Year Darkness, Atriox began to use Agdayne's people for front-line troop, hoping to have Agdayne killed before he could possibly overthrow him as emperor, tossing them against the Pathfinders. Groups of forty would be sent to storm enemy positions, clearing the way for follow-up attacks, but typically all of the attackers would die in the process. Sometimes repeated waves would be ordered against entrenched Pathfinders even when it was clear the battle had already been won, making it seem as if the leaders simply wanted blood, regardless of which side it was spilled from. Agdayne was the first to return as the sole survivor of one such suicide mission — a feat which he repeated multiple times after that. As Agdayne continued to lose pack-mates over the course of many battles, his resentment toward the Reclaimers, and Atriox in particular, grew. Tales of his improbable survival made him legendary in the eyes of many. |
Alongside Ginorah, Angarak and the Separatists higherups, Agdayne personally invaded Atriox's meditation room and arrested him, with the aid of his daughters ensuring that Atriox was caught off-guard and unable to resist. Under the cover of darkness, Atriox and his remaining military supporters were marched into a mighty ship, sealed within, and exiled far into space along a pre-programmed course, as he was too popular to openly execute.
With Atriox gone, Agdayne was sired as Dominus and declared himself the leader of a new Reclaimer regime, where there would be no more emperors and where everyone could attain greatness if they worked hard for it. Under his direction, the Legion militarized and became a conquering, expansionist empire. Agdayne eliminated much of the decadence of the Empire in favor of perfecting the Legion into what he viewed as an ideal war-driven form. Knowing that Atriox remained alive and a potential threat to his rule, Agdayne took steps to hide his movements from Atriox in an effort to keep his plans secret.

appearanceA monolith of a man, stout and statuesque, with a face that seems to taunt those around it for being of lesser handsomeness and dull crimson hair. His decline into a Reclaimer made his crux unstable, his hair which was once white stained with the blood essence of the demigods of which he killed in his thousand-year lifetime. Preferring to wear a raven-feather robe over his body—which was not covering his core—bore several different weapons on the inside that seemed endless to his opponent. His eyes were magenta and bright enough to illuminate its own light, but after he was mangled by Mithras' Apotheosis, he was reinvented by Mars. He fused with his Aegis, a featureless mask with ranks of daggered, steel teeth topped by an imposing crown. His shoulderplates seemed to be made more out of bone than steel and the belly of his chestplate was shaped like a maw. Inside of the mouth was his core, infernal in appearance and constantly swirling with motes of dark energy. The maw itself has appeared to be sentient at times, capable of producing its own guttural and alien noises.

traits
Agdayne is adorned in large ebon-black armor with red and gold detailing, and is often seen without a helmet, sporting a metal facemask instead to assist with his breathing. He also has albinism, given his pale skin and deep red eyes. Ghaul appears to be an adept strategist, choosing to launch his invasion during a severe thunderstorm that concealed his warships from visual detection until it was too late. Agdayne also managed to accomplish, in the span of several hours, what the other races could not do in centuries, to conquer Nibiru and scatter the Order. Thousands of years prior, Agdayne also managed to lead a united military coup against Emperor Atriox single-handedly, demonstrating his adept skills and charisma toward his people. On the battlefield, Agdayne is a ruthless and domineering 7'0 foot tall warlord, taller than most of his kind, going as far as to conquer an entire civilization at the behest of his people's benefit, demonstrating a cold lack of care and sympathy for other alien races outside of the Legion, excluding the races who have allied with the Separatists.
Agdayne also views himself with high esteem to the point of arrogance, condescendingly calling Mithras a "creature," telling him to not to look at him afterward. In addition, he believes that he alone is worthy of the Isu's power and its gifts. Therefore, he feels that Mithras doesn't deserve the power as him and his people do, displaying traits of megalomania. Despite this, he originally wanted to prove that he was worthy of the Isu's Light rather than simply take it. He states to Angarak that in taking the Isu's Light by force, he would be admitting his own failure in proving his own worth. However, Agdayne was not always like this, as Atriox's journal revealed that Agdayne was once a wicked orphan, who was adopted by the Shadows, meant to be used as a proxy to usurp Atriox and the Legion. Angarak instilled ideals of hatred and rage into Agdayne and taught him to become a powerful warrior, one without mercy. However, though Agdayne was intended to be a puppet to the Shadow's group, he proved to be far more strong-willed than anticipated. In time, the group that elevated and used him, the Shadow's included, learned to fear him and follow his creeds. Agdayne seemingly went insane after the failure of capturing Mithras possibly due to mounting pressure upon him from his failures, going as far as to kill his long-time teacher and friend, Angarak, after he simply questioned his objective.

SHORT STORY:
Inside the holding bay, Agdayne had no way of knowing which world he resided on. The last one had been some jungle biome, Strion-5, he assumed, whose inhabitants were massive, bipedal insects whose hind legs were like spears. He fought them for the amusement of his captors, just like he had been for the last three years of his life. Agdayne remembered the boom of the coliseum crowd right as he stuck his blade inside the chitin hide of his adversary . . . right as an electro-vibrator was pressed into his side, rendering him into unconsciousness. It was harder for his captors to drag him back into the holding bay each time he met victory--which was every time--Agdayne was a man now, no longer a teenage boy who would accept the life that was laid before him. He was beaten, maimed and enslaved, whisked off to different planets to fight for some benefactor or another. No doubt these were the machinations of some Legion overlord who filled his belly with hot wine while Agdayne shed blood and sweat for their amusement. Agdayne ran a smooth stone across the flat of his ebony blade, promising to kill the mastermind behind his enslavement.
The rumbling of chains brought Agdayne to his feet--the gate of his holding bay beginning to rise. Hot sunlight spliced through the opening gate, starting at Agdayne's feet until his entire body was drenched in a bright, blinding glare. He could feel each scar on his skin beginning to sting as the sun touched it, but he invited the challenge and began his walk to the arena.
Roaring, clambering, the crowd jumped to their feet at the sight of Agdayne's crimson hair and ghost-white skin. His eyes began to adjust . . . sand, a lot of it. The entire arena was a dry sea of bright, yellow sand, large columns of stone rising from the dunes like the teeth of some decomposing wyrm. Agdayne allowed himself a moment to survey the crowd from their several seating tiers . . . Civiks, a lot of them. Their sandblasted robes and horned heads were a dead giveaway, but that wasn't what Agdayne was looking for. There, on the podium, lavishly decorated in a pavilion of reds and purples and golds . . . a throne, wrought of bone and black steel was a great demon that sat upon it. Atriox.
His robes mirrored the opulence of his pavilion. It was long, overflowing, and sat awkwardly on his mammoth body. The white fabric of the robe seemed to reflect the sun in a way that made it seem like fire--though the skin of its wearer was darker than gravel. Agdayne tightened his fist around the hilt of his trusted blade and grimaced. Of all the arenas he had fought in, the Dominus was never in attendance. Agdayne decided he would make this a spectacle.
He turned--but too late. In his face was a gnashing, swiping wall of parchment skin and ivory tusks. Caught by surprise, he fell victim to the two hands of a Thraelex, putting Agdayne right on his back. It stood over him with its hunched back and scrunched face, the few wisps of hair on its spotted head tickling Agdayne's scarred cheeks.
"They're going to pay me good to kill you, gladiator." The Thraelex gurgled from its maw, its guttural language being translated to simplespeak from some modulator equipped to its throat.
Agdayne lifted his knees and stomped both his feet against the chest of the Thraelex, throwing it back just long enough for Agdayne to find his feet beneath him. Before he could position his blade, it was upon him again . . . it's fast, Agdayne thought cooly.
He ducked beneath a mighty--but readable--swing, sliding around to the Thraelex's back. A row of spikes protruded from the top of the Thraelex's head right down to the tip of its tail, which ended in a bulge that reminded Agdayne of a Morningstar flail. Agdayne girded his blade to bring it down unto the back of his opponent, but its tail was too quick. It swung out and struck him on the wrist, opening Agdayne's fingers, freeing his blade from his grip. He saw the blade wheel around in the air, reflecting the hot desert sun back into his eyes, blinding him. Agdayne thrust his hand out blindly and spread his fingers out wide . . . feeling the Light within his body reach out with him. It touched his blade as though with his own hand, then crushed his fingers into a fist, gripping the blade in its flight. When he swung his hand down, his blade followed like it were being blasted out of a cannon, firing into the Thraelex. The crowd cheered.
The blade sunk right into the shoulder of his adversary with a spray of purple blood, earning a shriek of fury from the Thraelex. It turned its small, beady black eyes to Agdayne.

-abilities:
The Banished Summoning Artillery: The Banished that was formed by Agdayne and several Reclaimers loyal to him who rebelled against their masters during the One-Hundred Year War. For a decade, the Banished were little more than raiders and pirates, conducting surgical raids against the Separatist Syndicate and other targets while gathering mercenaries for their cause. Unimpeded by the Reclaimer's devastating Great Schism, the Banished managed to salvage many of the empire's former assets after its fall, becoming a formidable power in their own right. As the General of this army, Agdayne is able to summon them at will using his San'Shyuum Eyes as a medium to yank them from time-space.
The Almighty:
- Shadow Guard: The Shadows of Agdayne were an elite team of Separatist warriors in the service of Emperor Atriox, composed of individuals from various civilizations who were recruited by Atriox during his travels. In the days immediately before the Separatists set out to coup him, Agdayne persuaded the Shadows to join his side and depose of their former Emperor. Agdayne deployed these Shadows to assassinate the various conspirators that were still behest to Atriox, and while the Shadows succeeded in eliminating nearly everyone on Agdayne's hit list, Agdayne continues to audition and recruit others to join their fold. Agdayne's guards became very formal after their switching of loyalties, appearing more as ceremonial than "shadows." The Shadow Guard was a force of eight warriors who protected the Banished leader, flanking him in his throne room at all times. Shadow Guards are merciless, persistent, and specialize in melee combat, as Agdayne sensed they would eventually fight Lunarosi. The Guards boasted an arsenal of melee weapons that were high-tech versions of unpowered weapons found in primitive societies across the galaxy, such as spear-staffs, flailing chain-whips and heavy double-bladed blades. All of them have an electro-plasma energy filament running along the blade's edge, creating a high-frequency vibration across the cutting edge, which increased its lethality in the process. Parallel to this, it allowed them to parry all forms of energy. The precise, sweeping movements of their martial arts fighting style struck fear into the hearts of foes.
- Wraith I-53 Model: The primary fighting vehicle used by the Banished. It is a first-strike ground assault vehicle in tactical round engagements, used to bring down structures and defenses or those who barricade themselves into domes. The plasma mortar it shoots out works by creating a large, compressed, magnetically encapsulated blob of superheated plasma and fired at a high velocity, magnetically guided in a ballistic trajectory until it strikes its target. When the bolt hits, the magnetic bubble collapses and the plasma rapidly expands from its compressed state creating a super-heated explosion, that will vaporize everything within twenty meters of impact. Titanium battle-plate, concrete or flesh is instantly obliterated by the white fire. After impact, the plasma begins to cool and thermal expansion takes over, fanning out the resulting flames that can travel away from the initial blast zone, causing heat trauma. The concussive force released from the explosion can splinter bones and destroy vital organs. As the resulting temperatures cool, the impact zone is nothing but a glass-smooth surface. Its mortar cannon provides devastating damage to anything in its ways and is known for its physiological effects on Annunaki at the mere sight of one.
- IV Model Banshee: Banshee of legend warned of death, and today all Pathfinder veterans know the cry of this glittering alien terror. It is an atmospheric craft that is typically used for reconnaissance, ground support, or ground attack missions. The front of the craft is lightly armored. In Celtic mythology, a Banshee is a woman spirit who wails for the death of a particular person before they die. The Banshees have to steal souls from people to live. The high-pitched sound made by the Banshee is a reference to this. They boast twin rapid fire plasma cannons, evasive abilities and Fuel Rod shots that do plasma damage. In most designs, the cowling of the craft is purple in color and acts as an outer shell. It is equipped with two wings which terminate in a propulsion jet and an anti-gravity pod, leaving behind a signature vaporous exhaust trail while flying.
The Almighty:
They call it... "The Almighty". The crown jewel of the Banished and life's work of their leader... Agdayne Lunaros. Agdayne has subjugated hundreds of worlds. Those that resisted... no longer exist. You see, the Almighty annihilates stars.
The Almighty is a colossal vessel said to be the life's work of Agdayne. It is thousands of times larger than the standard Banished Warships, possibly even larger than Auryx's Dreadnaught; rivaling the diameter of Arda in width. Following the conquest of a star system by the Banished, The Almighty is sent in to extract whatever resources it can from the system and then completely annihilate it. The Almighty works by consuming a nearby celestial body, breaking it down and converting it into fuel that powers an energy beam that links with the system's star on a quantum level. This link is so strong that if the Almighty were to be destroyed before decoupling, it would cause a chain reaction that would destroy both the star and the system. The energy beam gradually weakens and destabilizes the star's magnetic field to the point where it can no longer support itself and collapses into a system annihilating supernova. In the final moments before the star's collapse The Almighty severs its link with the star and warps to another system, where the process repeats.
Anguish Presence: Anyone near Agdayne while he's roused can feel his power around them, the sound of a thousand whispers overlapping like riffling pages, each as hush as a dying breath.

Sorrow of Teash
Darkness of the Divine Conduit: By sheer force of will, Agdayne can "take" the power of another entity. This does not require the use of his own energy. The fact that he can do this is a testament to his incredible will-power and strength of mind. This is considered black magic and as such he rarely employs this. When taking the powers of stronger, celestial entities he absorbs the mind and assumes their duties and roles in the dimension in which they exist. If his will falters, he can lose all sense of self in attempting to do this.
Astral Projection: Agdayne can release his astral form from his body, instantaneously and at will. In this form he does not need to breathe, eat, drink or sleep, is unrestricted by physical laws, is invisible (though can be seen by any if he wished it so), intangible, and incapable of being harmed by all but the most powerful and rigorous of mystic means. As physical laws are meaningless on the astral plane Agdayne is able to use it to traverse at virtually any speed desirable
Mystic Blasts: Agdayne possesses the ability to project a powerful beam of concussive, ruby-colored force from his eyes. This power comes from ambient energies (such as solar radiation, photons, cosmic rays) absorbed and metabolized by his Core into concussive blasts that are released from the eyes. They can turn rock to ash, metal to slag, and varying defenses into burnt abominations of their former selves.

The bond between Shruikan and Agdayne was a mangled and corrupted version of the natural link between Naga and Annunaki. He's a black Naga of titanic size with a pale blue-white iris, the color of a high mountain glacier. He's larger than any Naga in history with spikes as thick as tree trunks and made the ground tremble for more than a mile around him with every step he took. Shruikan went insane and was consumed by hatred due to having been controlled, corrupted and tortured by Agdayne his entire life.
